I met Luz and Spencer through a mutual friend when I was looking for a couple to help me shoot in a new location. After I find a new location I want to shoot at, I try to do a practice session so that I can know where I want to shoot, and what the lighting looks like during the session.
Luz and Spencer were newlyweds when we met, and since they hadn’t had a photographer cover their wedding I was glad to do some portraits for them! We did this session at the Monrovia Metro Depot. The depot has a gorgeous building, surrounded by beautiful landscape.
Since this session they have moved to Idaho to finish their schooling. I hope they have great success! They were so kind and patient as I moved them all around the depot and figured out how to pose them (you’ll see he is much taller than she is!). I also loved that they were willing to dress up for this! Spencer is a true gentleman. You know how much a boy loves his girl when he’s willing to get up and get fancy for pictures! Nuzzling your love while their is a camera nearby (sometimes very close) is not natural, and they were both just lovely.
My favorite pictures from this session are below, where they walked and just gazed and chatted with each other. I love being able to watch couples be all wrapped up in their love.
