Last winter we had a ton of rain here in Southern California. It was an absolute dream. One of the perks of course was having some snow relatively close by! We drove with some friends to a town just south of Big Bear where we got to spend the morning playing in the snow and it was SO fun.
Since I didn’t have a blog last winter I thought now would be a good time to share these, though granted right now it’s the end of January and a perfect 70 degrees outside. Not as much rain yet this year, fingers crossed we get some soon!
As So. Cal people snow is something we generally aren’t ready for. Thankfully we have some good friends who let us borrow all their gear for the kids! Getting soaked is a sure way to end a snow day early, and we were so grateful we got to borrow boots and waterproof pants. (and gloves and hats and jackets 😉 )
My husband was an avid snowboarder in his college days and the kids had a blast using one of his old snowboards as a sled. I mean, I wouldn’t even know where to buy a sled. Maybe Amazon?
The kids ate a lot of fresh powder that day. Roger made a ton of ‘snow pizza’ and the kids thought it was just hilarious.
Cheers to good friends and good fun! and major props to you if you live in a place with snow! May the odds be ever in your favor 🙂
